Sylvox TV Remote IP Control Guide (Google Home & Control4)

Overview

This guide provides two solutions for remote IP control of Sylvox TVs. Choose the option that best fits your home environment:

  • Option 1: Standard Users – Use the Google Home app for mobile control within the same WiFi network.
  • Option 2: Smart Home Users (Control4) – Integrate the TV into your Control4 system for unified automation.

Option 1: Mobile App Control via Google Home

Requirement: Your mobile device and Sylvox TV must be connected to the same WiFi network.

  1. Install App: Download and install the Google Home app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
  2. Setup Account: Open the app, log in to your Google account, and grant the necessary permissions.
  3. Add Device: Follow the in-app instructions to search for and pair your Sylvox TV. Once connected, you can use your phone as a virtual remote.
  4. How to Switch HDMI Inputs:
  • Open the virtual remote in the Google Home app.
  • Tap the "INPUT" button to bring up the Signal Source menu on your TV.
  • Use the Navigation Keys (Down Arrow) to scroll through the available HDMI channels.
  • Select the desired HDMI port to switch sources.

Option 2: Control4 Smart Home Integration

Requirement: A deployed Control4 system on the same local network as the TV.
Hardware Needed: 1x USB Flash Drive (for TV-side app installation).

Step 1: Download Required Assets

Before starting, download the following driver and application files:

Step 2: Install Control App on TV via USB

  1. Copy the remote-1.30.0.apk file to a USB flash drive.
  2. On your Sylvox TV, go to the Google Play Store, search for and install a file manager (e.g., X-Plore File Manager or Solid Explorer).
  3. Insert the USB drive into the TV. Use the file manager to locate and install the APK file.
  4. Launch the Sylvox Remote app after installation.

Step 3: TV-side Authorization

  1. Open the Sylvox Remote app and follow the on-screen prompts to enable Developer Options and USB Debugging.
  2. Click the authorization button to generate a Verify Code (Pairing Code) on the TV screen. Please record this code for the next step.

Step 4: Configuration in Control4 Composer Pro

  1. Add Driver: Import and install the sylvox_remote_driver.c4z in ComposerPro.
  2. Discover Device: Navigate to [Actions] and click "Discover device".
  3. Link IP: Select the discovered "Living Android TV" and click "Send". The system will automatically link the TV's local IP address.
  4. Pairing: Enter the Verify Code displayed on the TV into the "Pairing Code" field in ComposerPro.
  5. Confirm: Integration is successful when the status displays "Authenticated".

Step 5: Features Available via Control4 App

Once paired, use the Control4 OS 3.0 app to enjoy full control:

  • Power & Volume: ON/OFF, Mute, and precise volume adjustment.
  • Navigation: Full D-pad (Up/Down/Left/Right), OK, and Back buttons.
  • Source Switch: Seamlessly switch between HDMI inputs.
  • App Launch: Quick-launch YouTube, Netflix, and other installed apps.
  • Keyboard: Use your phone's keyboard for text input (e.g., searching or WiFi passwords).
